Dr. Kyle N. Crabtree

Bio

I was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana, where I graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School in 2003. I received my B.S. in Chemistry from Ball State University in December 2006. During my time at Ball State, I worked in the research group of Dr. James Poole, and studied the kinetics and photochemistry of azidopyridine-N-oxide molecules.

I was a member of the McCall group from 2007-2012, primarily studying the nuclear spin dependence of reactions involving H3+. In my final year at Illinois, I was awarded a NASA Earth and Space Science Fellowship for developing new spectroscopic techniques for highly accurate and precise sub-Doppler spectroscopy of molecular ions in the mid-infrared. After completing my Ph.D. studies, I received a CfA Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
